West Winch Governing Body

Mrs Heather Habbin
Chair of Governing Body - Heather Habbin

Heather has been a Governor at West Winch for many years, originally serving as a Governor, before becoming Chair of Governors in 2008.  She worked for Norfolk Education for 18 years and now runs her own small catering business from her home in West Winch.  Heather plays an active part in school life and enjoys visiting school on a regular basis - not just for meetings!

Mr Danny Panter
Vice Chair of Governing Body - Danny Panter

Danny is a retired Police Officer and has lived in West Winch for over twenty years.  Danny’s children benefited from attending West Winch Primary School and he is pleased to be able to offer any help as a Governor to make every child a success every day.

Mr Christopher Hobson
Christopher Hobson

Christopher joined the Governing Body in 2017, he is married and has lived in Norfolk for over 50 years and his son is currently attending West Winch Primary School.  He is the Managing Director of 3 companies and the President of the local BNI chapter, and is delighted to be able to offer assistance in helping in each child’s day at school be a happy and pleasurable one.

Mrs Deborah Blacklock
Deborah Blacklock

I became a Governor at West Winch Primary School in 1996 after leaving an 11 year career in an 11-16 secondary school which was one of the largest in Cambridgeshire with 1,500 pupils, 80 teaching staff and 50 support staff.  My role as Personal Assistant to the Headteacher and Clerk to the Governing Body was both challenging and extremely rewarding.  As a member of the Leadership Group my duties included all Personnel matters for staff and all Governing Body business and management which gave me an in-depth insight to Education and all its associated joys, challenges and social problems in one of the most socially deprived areas in the United Kingdom.

After leaving education I became a Senior Medical Secretary to the Lead Consultant Paediatrician in the NHS and have only very recently retired.

I recently returned to the Governing Body after a close family bereavement and feel I would like to continue to offer support to the local community and its children and parents.

My husband and I have three children who in-turn have produced ten grandchildren and bring us much joy and, obviously, keep our interest in education very much in focus.  We are a family who have several generations of teaching staff in its make-up and this also helps to keep us up-to-date with how the education system is working for both staff and pupils.

Mrs Suzanne Curl
Suzanne Curl

Suzanne joined West Winch as a Governor in 2010 as her eldest daughter finished her Reception year.  Whilst she has since moved on to High School Suzanne’s two younger children are and will be, come September, enjoying life at West Winch.  She currently works for a local firm of solicitors by whom she has been employed for over 25 years and enjoys assisting the community in a number of ways – not only as a Governor but also as a Committee Member for various groups and as an active Ladies Circler for King’s Lynn.  Suzanne is very pleased that she has been able to watch and share in the school’s growth, development and success during her time as a Governor and looks forward to continuing to assist in the future.
